As cold fronts approach the south in late October the swamp begins to dawn a new look. The bald cypress trees start to bronze and blush in the cool air turning their leaves orange and red. Cool mornings bring fog to the bayou and wildlife starts to get their last movements in before the winter comes. As fall transitions into the winter, the cypress shed their foliage and the swamp takes on a drab grey appearance.
